Utterly brilliant. Calm, dynamic, emotional, and profoundly moving. It reminds me of Enya, just a bit. I loved the plucked strings near the beginning and the end - I only wish you'd used them more prominently, it's a very powerful sound.
As always, an absolutely fantastic piece. Great work.

ErikMcClure responds:

I'll keep the pluck usage in mind for future songs

Great stuff!

This is epic material here; an excellent short story seed. I'd certainly like to see more of this.

SeiyruRenaih responds:

I may or may not make a second part. Just to keep everyone in suspense forever.

A man

stands in the dust, an empty gun dangling from his fingertips and tears in his eyes. They're all dead; his friends, his family, his lover, dead and gone in the name of freedom. He alone stands in the end, the last survivor and ultimate downfall of the great enemy that destroyed everything. A building collapses in the distance, reminding the man that life is fleeting; reminding him that there is nothing left. He will live out his days alone and forgotten, forgotten by the dead who have no name.

The last sound to echo from the shattered landscape is his scream; the scream of a man whose soul has died with his comrades, the scream of a man who yet lives, but wishes he did not.

The scream of the victor who now prays for death.

This is what I saw. I'm going to go, with this image in my head, and write a story about this man, about what he lost to save nothing. And your music will be looping in my ears.

You are a genius, friend.

BrokenDeck responds:

Hey! Thanks a lot man. I'm always happy when some is inspired enough to create a story from my music. :D

Beautiful, mate.

Really don't know what to say, past that you should honestly consider pursuing a career in film or video-game scoring.

I fell in love with this song playing K.O.L.M., and I'll probably leave it looped while I'm working on my novel.

Ockeroid responds:

I am, so this is very good to hear :)

Thanks very much and good luck with your novel

Memories!

My girlfriend and I used to do that; wander through the city until we were clueless, then find the Library, the theatre, the bus station... somewhere familiar.

Brilliant song; love the combination of light, airy overtones and an underlying beat propelling the whole thing forwards.

Ockeroid responds:

That sounds wonderful. Having an aimless walk until I end up in a place I've never been is one of my favorite things to do. I find you get lost in your head (or lost in conversation). So even tho you're walking in a public place it feels like a really personal experience. I actually just came back from one a few hours ago :p

So glad you like it!

Excellent.

Makes me think of my old animations; 'Of Angels and Men'. Badly animated... but had a good story, which I've started to put into print. A quote fits the description of this song nicely.

Angel Kimberly Revren Talaris, UNHAF, Wing Leader, 33769, was recorded as saying last Monday,
"I hate water."
When questioned why, she replied,
"It's... water."
Our reporter asked her to be a bit more specific.
"Look, the stuff burns out electronics. I'd have a permanent flight suspension if I got dunked, you see? No? Ugh. In laymen's terms, MY WINGS WOULD BE FRIED. I wouldn't be able to fly. Ever."

ANYWAY!!
It was an awesome song; good ambient trance. I'm sure to listen to it while working on one of many writing projects :)

PrEmoEffect responds:

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed reading your little anecdote. I definitely agree with you. Old productions are worse in quality, but also tend to have nicer stories (in this case melody) than previous ones, where the producer gets caught up in the technological side in attempting to improve quality. A balance is needed for anything to be good.
Hope to see you in the future.

Nope.

Nothing wrong with it. Nothing. I can't find any problems. Not a single one.

AND ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE SHOULD DIE IN A FIRE!! THIS IS AWESOME!!

georgem124 responds:

thanks alot! btw why the fuck do i have 100 thousand downloads?

If this was against your better judgement...

You aught to submit every unfinished little chunk of semi-music you find in your PC's murky depths to Newgrounds, where your fans (especially me) can REALLY appreciate it ;D

ErikMcClure responds:

I'm actually very proud of this song and to-date it's the most emotional piece I've ever managed to pull off. Newgrounds usually doesn't appreciate that stuff very much though.

WTF!?

Classical is SERIOUSLY appreciated on this end. If you submit more like this, I'll arrange a hardy band of Newgrounds voters to protect it from the 0-bombing you've been taking waaay too much.

ErikMcClure responds:

I don't really make this style of music anymore... It was more suited to when I had to manage with lower quality instruments and samples.

Jesus.

Okay, that's it. I'm using this in 'Of Angels and Men: Episode 1'. The temptation has lingered too long... SCREW the music that I had set aside in my collection! This is WAY better by a LONG shot.

ErikMcClure responds:

lol thanks xD

Tried animation, quickly learned it wasn't for me. So hey there, welcome to a writer's NG profile :) Message me if you're interested in a sample of my work, or my services, if I might be so bold.
